Plan Key Processes
By “planning,” we mean the participatory development of customer-oriented solutions in various variants. This allows us to identify suitable variants early on and discard unsuitable ones. By using modern planning tools and methods—such as 3D laser scanning, material flow simulation, and virtual commissioning—we can also evaluate a larger number of options in less time, thereby significantly increasing planning reliability.
For our customers, this means significantly lower implementation risk and the avoidance of potential follow-up costs. Furthermore, the visual representation and dynamic (animated) depiction of the processes make the planning solution more transparent and easier to understand. Through our methodical, structured, and holistic approach to planning, we guarantee sustainable and efficient solutions that meet the demands of future factories in the context of global competition.
Key components of our planning services include:
- Plant structure planning
- Maintenance planning
- Logistics planning
- 3D laser scanning and 2D/3D layout planning
- Work organization
- Material flow simulation (Siemens Plant Simulation)

Factory Planning
HÖRMANN Rawema builds the factory or production facility of the future for its customers, based on jointly agreed-upon principles. We integrate the building structure, production equipment, necessary technical building systems, and other technical resources into functional, efficient, and manufacturer-neutral factories.
Whether it’s heavy presses, tons of molten metal, complex recycling facilities, assembly operations, cross-border relocations, or consulting on the digitalization of production processes – for nearly 60 years, we have been serving customers worldwide with tailored solutions.
With 35 qualified engineers, we work every day from our headquarters in Chemnitz to serve our more than 300 customers. For larger projects, we integrate HÖRMANN’s expertise in and around Chemnitz with approximately 300 engineers to form an agile and interdisciplinary team.
The HÖRMANN Engineering Competence Model – From Product to Factory to Building
Together with two companies in the HÖRMANN Group, this forms an engineering competence model: HÖRMANN Rawema represents factory planning expertise, HÖRMANN Vehicle Engineering represents comprehensive vehicle expertise, and HÖRMANN BauPlan represents construction planning expertise.
